Cambria COR™

Letter of Good Standing

 

Cambria Design Build Ltd. passed the internal COR Audit for the second year and achieved the letter of good standing.

Cambria President congradulated this achievemt to all staff and said: This is a very import component to Cambria’s Continued success Today, and well into our collective futures.

Now Cambria is ready to start preparing for the External COR Audit 2021, under the new COR 2020 Standard.

Cambria Design Build Ltd. celebrated its 25th anniversary. Spencer Lavis, the president of the company said:

“Over our 25 years in business, the current challenge we face is definitely our most trying to navigate.  I take comfort, and feel incredibly privileged, that we have such a strong, intelligent, and dedicated team as the backbone of Cambria.

To those of you who have been here from the beginning I cannot begin to express my gratitude to your loyalty.”

Cambria building mask manufacturing facility

Mask manufacturer expects to create close to 100 jobs in Collingwood

 

Cambria Design Build Ltd. proudly is building a mask manufacturing facility located in Collingwood Ontario. Trebor Rx should start production in mid-November. Chief executive officer George Irwin estimated the company will employ between 80 and 100 people and manufacture about 725,000 masks a day.

The Brad Sudeyko Memorial Award

Georgian College of Applied Arts and Technology

Cambria Design Build has established an award in loving memory of Brad Sudeyko, a Project Manager at Cambria Design Build, a dear friend, a son and a husband who passed away too early after a long and hard fought battle with cancer. The Brad Sudeyko Memorial Award will offer an opportunity for one deserving student enrolled in the project management program at Georgian College, each year, to be rewarded for their efforts and their caring and positive qualities that Brad himself always displayed.

Brooks Farms

Cambria Family Gathering

 

On a beautiful autumn day in October at Brooks Farms in Mount Albert the Cambria Team and their families enjoyed lunch and lots of fun activities including the famous Pumpkin Cannon Show.

Our group picture here is very special as Brooks Farms suffered an enormous tragedy in early December and lost their historic “Party Barn” ,as pictured here, when it burned to the ground.

Cambria Design Build Ltd. Safety Month

OGCA – League of Champions

 

During the month of May, Safety Month and Safety Week (May 5-11) were celebrated. The League of Champions members and patrons organized events, meetings and activities as part of their initiative to show commitment in health and safety in the workplace.

Cambria Design Build Ltd. actively delivered Safety Toolbox Talks lead by Spencer Lavis, President, and coordinated by Samuel Rodriguez, Health and Safety Manager.

There were 16 Safety Meetings, 8 of which were completed during the first week of May. A total of 47 workers participated, and received a strong message from the President and the Health and Safety Manager urging them to be attentive listeners to the workers’ safety concerns, and “big time observers” of their work performance, practices and procedures to keep them in the “safety zone” at all times.

Ribbon cutting ceremony

Dixon Hall Youth Center

 

On Wednesday, April 24th, Dixon Hall hosted a ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the start of construction at our new youth center.

“I am very proud that CAMBRIA can be associated with such a prestigious and important project” Cambria President said after congratulating Dixon Hall construction team. Spencer Lavis continued: “This a marque project for Regent Park, and an instrumental part of breaking the cycle of poverty in many youths lives”.

The Certificate of Recognition (COR™) is nationally trademarked and endorsed by participating members of the Canadian Federation of Construction Safety Associations (CFCSA) of which the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association (IHSA) is a member. Cambria Design Build awarded Dixon Hall Project

The Dixon Hall Youth Centre is a 10,000 square foot community centre that will offer a space for youth mentoring and learning opportunities. The Centre will be located at the corner of Wyatt and Nicholas Avenues, next to the new Regent Park Athletic Grounds.

Dixon Hall is a multi-service, United Way non-profit organization that serves vulnerable populations in Toronto’s downtown east. For more than 85 years, Dixon Hall has been serving the community by offering a diverse range of more than 60 programs and services, including homeless shelters, award-winning employment services, seniors programming, children and youth activities and a nationally renowned Music School.

Ontario Government recognizes Cambria Design Build’s commitment to health & safety

On September 29, 2017 the Honourable Kevin Flynn, Ontario Ministry of Labour presented Cambria Design Build Ltd. a certificate in recognition of the company’s commitment to health and a safety. It applauds the goal of Cambria Design Build Ltd’s goal to have every worker return home safely from work at the end of the day.


Cambria Design Build, 21 Eric T. Smith Way, Aurora, ONVentilated tile system slated for new Tilemaster facility

A commercial industrial facility underway for Tilemaster in Aurora, Ont. will feature a new ventilated tile system that will represent a North American first.

“It has a new system that is a ventilated tile system that comes from Italy. It’s going to be the first of its kind here in Canada and it’s being showcased on this building,” explained John Antunes, a director of design at Cambria Design Build, the general contractor on the project.

Cambria Design Build receives League of Champions Construction Safety Award in May 2016. This award is presented to a construction company that achieves the following:

  • Communication safety knowledge and safety innovation at all levels of the company
  • Lead by example in improving safety behaviour in the company

Distinguished Achievement in Health & Safety awarded to Cambria

Cambria Design Build Ltd, was presented with the Distinguished Achievement in Health and Safety Award in 2016 for achieving 121,175 accumulated hour for achieving a zero injury frequency. The award was presented by the Ontario General Contractors Association.
